Eagle Dahlia Farm 2020

Our Story...

Dan Eagle on Eagle Dahlia Farm
Dan Eagle, pictured in his dahlia garden in Spokane, WA
Growing up on the family dairy farm in Elk, Washington, Dan Eagle was tasked with helping his mom dig up and store dahlia tuber clumps harvested from their garden in the crawl space under their home. She had long grown dahlias she had gotten from friends, none with a known name. On a trip to the Spokane Interstate Fair one year, Dan saw the dahlia exhibition and thought "I can grow dahlias as good as that." So he invested in some tubers and the dahlia craze began. Never one to have just a small hobby, Dan continued to grow more and more dahlias.  The dahlia patch eventually grew into it's own dahlia garden in the front yard of his home in the Peone Prairie of Washington. He started selling dahlias in 1998, venturing into online sales on eBay and then to this website. Dan's wife, Janet, shakes her head at the amount of dahlias grown every year, but she can be found weeding or washing tuber clumps at the end of every fall. Dan's son, Bob, has inherited the dahlia bug and manages the hybridizing efforts on the farm. When you buy dahlia tubers from us, you are buying over two decades of experience in growing the healthiest dahlias we have to offer.
